Fashionistas '09

Hi all - hope everyone is having a good week so far. Temperatures have definitely dropped and each morning I seem to be adding another layer to my outfit - oh to only dream about the sunshine!

Thought I would warm up the day with some promised pictures of the most fashionable Xmas of 2009 ...

Last Wednesday night, all the Matches team got together and partied the night away, true fashion style.

Here is a sneak peak at what those fab fashionistas were wearing...

There was high-street mixed with high-end and every so often, a splash of vintage.

The night was fun, fabulous and uber fashionable!

I'm A Barbie Girl

WOW
- what a weekend! Starting on Thursday with a trip to Olivia Rubin's sample sale followed by round two of the Matches' Xmas party. Then on to the Theatre Saturday night followed by more partying. Shopping on Sunday, X Factor (we will discuss more) and did I mention more partying?! I am exhausted - I need a weekend to recover from the weekend!

I guess this blog will make up for Friday's lack of but be sure to watch this space, as this week I will bring you the best of a hot new designer, some fabulous fashion photos and lots of purchasing gossip.

For now though - I will leave you with this wonderful collaboration ... Every girl's dream toy, a Louboutin Barbie. My eyes were in awe as a friend of a friend showed me what she had purchased - a limited edition Barbie doll, who owns a collection of four red-soled Louboutin shoes (that's four more pairs than I own). Each pair come with their own shoe box and bag and makes the perfect present for any fashion lover.

Is it wrong that I am jealous of a 30cm plastic doll?

Oh - to - be - a - Barbie.

Happy Monday all

What a busy week so far! Work, styling, styling and work - I love what I do and rarely ever complain but I cant help but wish that I could just have a few extra hours of beauty sleep a night. Ladies take note - it's time to prep and pamper for the land of nod...

Bex Rox

One of the many perks of working at Matches is the fact that I get to meet some of the fabulous people behind the brands we sell. Last Friday, Bex Manners graced us with her presence and gave us a little insight in to her designs.

Bex grew up in the Balearic Islands, which ultimately formed the foundation of her distinctive jewellery designs. Having travelled round the world, she has experienced many different types of cultures. She now puts that extensive knowledge and creativity in to her designs and produces some of the most interesting, chic and vintage inspired jewellery I have ever seen.

Featured in magazines such as Grazia and Harpers, Bex Rox is most certainly a designer to look out for. Her bespoke collection is glamorous and interesting and can be worn for work, rest or play. Celebs such as Sarah Harding and Cheryl Cole have all worn a piece and it is certainly time we get our fashion hands on one too.

Lucky for us - I managed to pin Bex down for a quick 60 second interview ...

When did Bex Rox launch?

In 2006
.

What inspires your designs?
The art deco era and travel.

Describe your designs in three words.
Playful, timeless and decadent.

Whose designs do you admire?
Jean Despres.

Where do you see your business in five years?
That would be telling!

Ladies - it's time to get those wish Lists at the ready, Bex Rox certainly rocks!

xoxo

What Women Want

What do women want?

Someone to love who loves them back, just as much if not perhaps a little more. A home that they can call their palace where they can entertain and bring up a family. A couple of children, preferably a girl and a boy. Perhaps a dog or a cat, maybe even a fish or all three! A thriving career and genuine happiness. This is what women want - right? Well - ultimately yes - but at 25 years old, all I want is something pink and delicious (for today that is!)

£297 - Jimmy Choo - net-a-porter.com

£330 - Mulberry

£16 - Debenhams

£103 - Sara Berman - asos.com

£20 - H+M

So, now I have the bag, all I need is the husband, a few kids, a dog and a home! :)

Work + Play

Happy New Week all ... Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Mine was fun filled and fashionable! I had my bf's xmas party, for which I wore a gorgeous embellished dress (see pic below). I also hit Portabello Market, where I picked up a stunning silver chunky ring, a vintage inspired bracelet and tried on half a dozen fur coats. I took a client shopping on Sunday and then completed the weekend with a girly
dinner, complimented by a devastating X-Factor show (yes, I'm still very upset about the fact Danyl has gone *boohoo* )

So ... Other than a few tears (due to X-Factor) the weekend was busy, exciting and far too short.

Hope you all had a good one.

Lots of fashion loving

xoxo

P.s.
I also came across this fabulous jacket today at work. I would wear this Marc Jacobs masterpiece with skinny black jeans, a white tee and killer heels - the tweed in me is ready to rock!

Thank Matches It's Friday

Am I glad to see the weekend arrive! It's been a busy but exciting week; starting a new job, fashion show meetings, two Christmas parties and a couple of purchases here and there *phew* I need a lie-down just thinking about it!

For a little ray of sunshine - this Chloe dress will brighten even the dullest of days.

A new fave designer of mine - Brian Atwood knows just how to do heels.

Does this bag need any introduction? Wear with anything, it's Chanel after all.
