Stylishly Sleepy

What a busy week so far! Work, styling, styling and work - I love what I do and rarely ever complain but I cant help but wish that I could just have a few extra hours of beauty sleep a night. Even so, whether I get my full eight hours or not - I like to ensure I look all fresh and pretty when heading to bed.

Ladies take note - it's time to prep and pamper for the land of nod...

Bex Rox

One of the many perks of working at Matches is the fact that I get to meet some of the fabulous people behind the brands we sell. Last Friday, Bex Manners graced us with her presence and gave us a little insight in to her designs.

Bex grew up in the Balearic Islands, which ultimately formed the foundation of her distinctive jewellery designs. Having travelled round the world, she has experienced many different types of cultures. She now puts that extensive knowledge and creativity in to her designs and produces some of the most interesting, chic and vintage inspired jewellery I have ever seen.

Featured in magazines such as Grazia and Harpers, Bex Rox is most certainly a designer to look out for. Her bespoke collection is glamorous and interesting and can be worn for work, rest or play. Celebs such as Sarah Harding and Cheryl Cole have all worn a piece and it is certainly time we get our fashion hands on one too.

Lucky for us - I managed to pin Bex down for a quick 60 second interview ...

When did Bex Rox launch?

In 2006
.

What inspires your designs?
The art deco era and travel.

Describe your designs in three words.
Playful, timeless and decadent.

Whose designs do you admire?
Jean Despres.

Where do you see your business in five years?
That would be telling!

Ladies - it's time to get those wish Lists at the ready, Bex Rox certainly rocks!

What Women Want

What do women want?

Someone to love who loves them back, just as much if not perhaps a little more. A home that they can call their palace where they can entertain and bring up a family. A couple of children, preferably a girl and a boy. Perhaps a dog or a cat, maybe even a fish or all three! A thriving career and genuine happiness. This is what women want - right? Well - ultimately yes - but at 25 years old, all I want is something pink and delicious (for today that is!)

£297 - Jimmy Choo - net-a-porter.com

£330 - Mulberry

£16 - Debenhams

£103 - Sara Berman - asos.com

£20 - H+M

So, now I have the bag, all I need is the husband, a few kids, a dog and a home! :)

Work + Play

Happy New Week all ... Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Mine was fun filled and fashionable! I had my bf's xmas party, for which I wore a gorgeous embellished dress (see pic below). I also hit Portabello Market, where I picked up a stunning silver chunky ring, a vintage inspired bracelet and tried on half a dozen fur coats. I took a client shopping on Sunday and then completed the weekend with a girly
dinner, complimented by a devastating X-Factor show (yes, I'm still very upset about the fact Danyl has gone *boohoo* )

So ... Other than a few tears (due to X-Factor) the weekend was busy, exciting and far too short.

Hope you all had a good one.

Lots of fashion loving

xoxo

P.s.
I also came across this fabulous jacket today at work. I would wear this Marc Jacobs masterpiece with skinny black jeans, a white tee and killer heels - the tweed in me is ready to rock!

Love for Louboutins

I am sure every woman, actually, make that human, can appreciate and share the love I have for Christian Louboutin shoes. Since its creation in 1991 - Christian Louboutin has become a house hold name world wide. Those infamous, unique and iconic shiny red-lacquered soles have made a dent in the fashion world and have been on every woman's 'wish list' since.

Whether you own just the one pair or lucky to have a few - here are the ones that I think are worth investing in ...

Black is Back

As I mentioned on Friday, my new job started this week and I was very much looking forward to getting stuck in to the designer world - however - when I was told that my uniform had to consist of one colour, black, I had a slight mini fashion-attack.

As you may or may not know, most days I tend to live in bright colours, different styles and a mix match of all sorts - so - upstairs I ran, flew my cupboard doors back and reached out for all the black items I could see. All in all, I managed to pull together a handful of outfits - but some major black shopping was due!

Here is what I purchased and am planning on purchasing in the next few weeks ...

Lipsy lace top - reduced from £35 to £18 - asos.com

Coast lace dress - £108 - johnlewis.com

New Look studded dress - £30 - newlook.co.uk

ASOS sequin boots - reduced from £50 to £25 - asos.com

Karen Millen ruffled skirt - £99 - Karen Millen

ASOS shoe boot - reduced from £55 to £27 - asos.com

Topshop tier mini skirt - £32 - Topshop

Love Milly zip dress - £32 - USC

The black book of clothes is forever ongoing and my wardrobe is willing to make some extra space!

Black is the new Black don't you know?!

Wedge World

I love heels - however - I also love walking and unfortunately, walking in heels - me no love!

As much as I enjoy wearing my different variety of flat boots - they do not quite give me the same feel as a pair of heels do. So I have opted for this seasons must-haves, a pair of wedges. Many associate the wedge shoe for Summer time - but this Winter they have hit the stores with a storm and we are absolutely spoilt for choice.

You know the drill - here are my top ten ...

£585 - Charlotte Olympia - luisaviaroma.com

£110 - Emma Cook - topshop.com

£157 - ASH - my-wardrobe.com

£85 - Office - office.co.uk

£80 - DKNY - asos.com

£141 - Opening Ceremony - farfetch.com

£130 - Emma Cook - topshop.com

£150
- Topshop - topshop.com

£367.25 - Alaia - theoutnet.com
